Huesca to continue survival push
Huesca may be hitting form at just the right time in La Liga, as they have only lost two of their last seven matches and will head into Sunday’s contest with Alaves following back-to-back wins over Levante and Elche.
The latter of those two victories lifted Pacheta’s side out of the relegation zone for the first time since October, with striker Rafa Mir playing a pivotal role in that improvement.
The on-loan Wolves forward has scored five of Huesca’s last six goals in La Liga, netting braces in their last two games to take his tally for the season to 12.
Alaves can only dream of having such a prolific goalscorer in their ranks, as their tally of 24 goals from their 30 league games this season is the third lowest in the division.
Sunday’s hosts have also taken just two points from their last eight games, although one of those did come at Athletic Bilbao last weekend in new boss Javier Calleja’s first match in charge.
That draw does give Alaves something to build on, but they have won just once in La Liga since the turn of the year and we are predicting improving Huesca to get at least a point on Sunday.
If Huesca are to take something from the match, then it seems likely Mir will have an influence and we are predicting the former Spanish youth international to get on the scoresheet for a third-successive game.
