Argentina vs Peru Predictions

  • Argentina are unbeaten in their last 24 games, winning 16 including nine of their last ten.
  • La Albiceleste have conceded just two goals in their five home qualifiers, keeping three clean sheets.
  • Peru have failed to score in three of their five away qualifiers, with three of those games ending in defeat (W1, D1).
  • Argentina are unbeaten in the last 13 meetings, winning nine including a 2-0 success in November’s reverse tie.

Awesome Argentina to make it ten wins from 11

Argentina extended their unbeaten sequence to 24 games with a fine 3-0 victory over Uruguay in Buenos Aires on Sunday and Lionel Scaloni’s stars should sweep aside Peru with similar ease at Estadio Monumental Antonio Vespucio Liberti this Friday.

La Albiceleste have been terrific all year with six wins and four draws earned in qualifying in addition to their Copa America triumph, though they arguably turned in the best display of their lengthy unbeaten run on Sunday to tear through a vastly experienced and usually solid Uruguay outfit.

Argentina may be six points adrift of Brazil in the CONMEBOL standings, but they’re emerging as the most likely South American winners of next year’s World Cup in Qatar, for which qualification is now all but sealed.

Another clean sheet likely for La Albiceleste

Scaloni’s side have now won nine of their last ten starts in all competitions, keeping six clean sheets in the process, while they’ve conceded just two goals in their five home qualifiers thus far (W3, D2).

Friday’s hosts are unbeaten in their last 13 meetings with Peru, winning nine including a 2-0 triumph in Quito last November, and everything points towards another victory and clean sheet for La Albiceleste on Matchday 12, with Peru losing and failing to net in three of their five away qualifying outings (W1, D1).

There’s a chance that we may have seen the absolute best of Argentina in this international break, and it’s easy to envisage Lionel Messi and co. coasting to success this Friday as opposed to hitting four of five goals.

Argentina have averaged around two goals per game in their home qualifiers, so with Peru conceding at a similar rate on their travels, we’re tipping up a 2-0 correct score alongside our Argentina win to nil wager.
