Gunners to get back on track

Arsenal’s potentially title-deciding meeting with Manchester City on Sunday turned out to be something of a damp squib as the two sides played out an uninspiring goalless draw but the Gunners should get back on track against the struggling Luton on Wednesday.

While that draw at the Etihad may have ended Arsenal’s eight-game winning streak in the Premier League, it did extend their unbeaten record and they have scored a phenomenal 33 goals in the nine outings since a defeat away to Fulham in December.

Adventurous Hatters struggle for results

This will come as bad news to the travelling Luton fans, who saw their side make it seven games without a win as they were beaten by Tottenham on Saturday, leaving them 18th in the table heading into the final eight games of the season.

Nobody can accuse the Hatters of trying to shut up shop and grind out results, though. The only bottom-half sides to score more goals than them this season are Fulham and Chelsea and they have found the net in each of their last 18 top-flight games.

Rice to strike at the Emirates

A result may be beyond the injury-hit Luton in this midweek fixture, but they could at least trouble the hosts’ defence. Arsenal have won their last four at home but have just two clean sheets in their last eight at the Emirates, so backing Arsenal to win and both teams to score appeals.

Mikel Arteta’s side have averaged 3.67 goals-per-game across their last nine in the league and Luton have shipped exactly four goals in three of their last five away from home, making a 4-1 correct score prediction the most appealing option.

Declan Rice also stands out as a decent value anytime goalscorer pick. The 25-year-old midfielder has been transformative for the Gunners this season but not many predicted the goal threat he would bring. He has scored three and assisted three in his last five Premier League games and looks a good price to get on the scoresheet.
