Aston Villa vs AFC Bournemouth Predictions

- Ollie Watkins has six goals in his last seven games.
Battling Bournemouth head to Villa Park
Bournemouth sit in 18th place in the Premier League table ahead of their trip to Villa Park on Saturday but an upturn in form means they are within touching distance of safety.
The Cherries claimed a memorable 1-0 win over Liverpool last weekend and now have six points to show from their last four games, having claimed a win at Wolves in mid February before back-to-back losses against the top two.
Villa also head into the game in form as they have seven points from the last nine available, meaning they go into Saturday’s game in 11th spot – 11 points clear of danger but nine adrift of the European places.
Cherries appeal as underdogs
Bournemouth are big underdogs for this fixture but they may well be able to claim a point at Villa Park. The Cherries are fighting for survival and should go into the clash full of confidence after overcoming Liverpool last time out, having nearly claimed a point at Arsenal the week before as a last gasp Gunners goal condemned them to a 3-2 loss.
Villa are in form but they have been far better on their travels and have just two wins in seven attempts in front of their own fans since the World Cup break, losing four of those games.
An away win is tempting, but the odds against price on a Bournemouth to win or draw result in the double chance market is the sensible option given every point counts for Gary O’Neil’s visitors and Villa are on a three-game unbeaten streak.
Goals at both ends possible
Villa have one of the league’s form forwards in their ranks as Ollie Watkins has been on an incredible run of six goals in his last seven games, so he stands out as a contender for a goal at any time.
In terms of a correct score bet, there is a chance Bournemouth could snatch all three points and a 2-1 victory for the away side appeals. The Cherries are the team in greater need of the points and they have scored in each of their last five games – including two against Arsenal and one against Manchester City.
Bournemouth are also a bit of a bogey team for Villa and they have won each of the last four meetings between these two sides, winning the reverse fixture 2-0 earlier in the season, and at a big price they look worth the risk to make it five in a row on Saturday.
