Aston Villa vs AFC Bournemouth Predictions

  • Aston Villa have won four of their last five home games.
  • Bournemouth have only won one of their five competitive away day this season.
  • Ollie Watkins has five goals in his last five Premier League appearances.

Villans fantastic home form continues

Aston Villa continued their perfect start to the Champions League season with a comfortable win over Bologna in midweek and they can follow that up by clinching three points when Bournemouth come to town on Saturday afternoon.

The Villans are now unbeaten in ten games in all competitions and have won eight of those, including a famous victory over Bayern Munich, and their home form is proving just as good.

They have won four, drawn one, and lost one of their six competitive home assignments, with their sole defeat coming against title-hopefuls Arsenal and their other dropped points coming against Manchester United.

Cherries struggling on their travels

Bournemouth did beat the Gunners last time out and have impressed at times this season, but most of their promising displays come at the Vitality Stadium and they are backed to struggle at a ground that Unai Emery has turned into something of a fortress.

The Cherries have won just one of their five competitive away games this term and their three defeats on the road have seen them fail to score, while Aston Villa have kept three successive clean sheets at home.

Watkins can strike for hosts

The hosts have lost just two of their last 14 competitive home games and have won their last two home meetings with Bournemouth by an aggregate scoreline of 6-1, so they look excellent value to take the spoils on Saturday.

With Bournemouth struggling for goals on their travels, a repeat of Aston Villa’s midweek 2-0 win appeals in the correct score market, while Ollie Watkins is a standout contender for a goal. The 28-year-old was only used from the bench in midweek and has five Premier League goals in his last five appearances.
