Aston Villa vs Stoke Predictions
Aston Villa’s opening day win over Bournemouth and then their fairly solid display against Manchester United to following week had the fans fairly optimistic about their chances this season.
But that has all gone out of the window now. They have simply been unable to get any momentum going in the league and find themselves on a run of six Premier League games without a win.
They lost last weekend to an out of form Liverpool side, but their display was much the same as the rest of the season. They were bright in parts, but ultimately unsuccessful in the majority of their attacks.
Their record sees them sitting inside the relegation zone of the Premier League having picked up just four points from their opening seven games.
Stoke aren’t doing much better though, with their six points seeing them just one position above the home side coming into this match.
Aston Villa are slowly recovering from their fairly major injury crisis, but they are still likely to be without Gabby Agbonlahor, Jose Crespo, Gary Gardner, and Jores Okore for this match. Meanwhile, Stoke will only be without Ryan Shawcross.
The return of Bojan from his long term injury has been the highlight of Stoke’s season so far. They failed to win any of their first six Premier League games, but Bojan’s return against Leicester two weeks ago saw them improve drastically.
They managed to draw 2-2 against Leicester thanks to a goal from the returning striker, and he played again last weekend as Stoke secured their first league win of the season.
Aston Villa seem devoid of all belief at the moment, and with Stoke improving drastically over the past few weeks I can see them getting a win on Saturday. Odds of 11/10 to back Stoke Draw No Bet look very good value to me.
