Aston Villa vs West Ham Predictions

The misery continues for Aston Villa. Their 1-1 draw with Newcastle on Saturday made it 16 Premier League matches without a win for them, and it’s fast becoming an inevitability that Aston Villa will be relegated.

They have just seven points from their first 17 league matches, a tally that leaves them ten points from safety already.

Their last five games have seen them lose three times and draw twice, although both their draws have come against fellow strugglers Southampton and Newcastle.

West Ham aren’t exactly flying high at the moment though. Their excellent start to the season is long gone and they are currently on a seven match winless streak Premier League that has seen them start a slide down the table.

They are in 8th position going into this Boxing Day fixture with 25 points from their opening 17 matches, but this is only thanks to their early season good form.

While West Ham are struggling to pick up a win at the moment, they are still proving difficult to beat. They have only lost two of their last 14 Premier League matches, with five of their last seven ending all square.

I can’t see Aston Villa picking up a win from anywhere at the moment, and despite West Ham’s poor recent spell they are still a hard side to beat. They have also put in some incredible performances away from home this season.

Odds of 1/2 for a West Ham Win or Draw Double Chance may look short, but I actually think they offer quite a lot of value considering the fact that Villa haven’t won in five months and are coming up against a side who have only lost four times. I’m also vouching for a narrow 1-0 win for West Ham at odds of 7/1.
