Aston Villa are the favourites to win this year’s Europa League and they have made a solid start to the league stage, winning three of their four games.

A shock 2-1 defeat away to Go Ahead Eagles has been the only blot on their copy book and they are long odds-on to extend their good start against Young Boys on Thursday.

The visitors have taken six points from their four games but were beaten 4-0 by PAOK last time out and face the toughest test of their league stage campaign.

The Swiss side are second domestically but are up against it when they face this Aston Villa side, who have won nine of their last 11 matches.

Unai Emery’s men have become very adept at grinding out results in games in which they don’t play particularly well.

They were second best for large parts of their 2-1 win over Leeds on Sunday but did enough to get the job done.

Their defensive strength should see them get the better of this Young Boys side, all three of the Villans’ European wins this season have been accompanied with a clean sheet and a repeat of that is fancied.
