Atleti can bounce back with Celtic win

Atletico Madrid slipped to a surprise 2-1 loss to Las Palmas in La Liga on Friday night but they will be hoping to put things right with victory over Celtic in the Champions League.

Friday’s defeat was only Atleti’s second in the league this term and they have won eight of their 11 games in the top flight.

In the Champions League, meanwhile, they have found things a little tougher, having been held to draws in two of their three Group E fixtures.

One of the teams to hold Atletico to a stalemate were Celtic, who drew 2-2 with the Spanish outfit at Celtic Park last month.

However, Atletico won the shot count 15-6 in that match and were not helped by an 82nd-minute red card picked up by Rodrigo de Paul.

Diego Simeone’s men could be breached

On home soil, Atletico are pretty reliable and they can record three points this time around, although Celtic can get on the scoresheet.

Diego Simeone’s side have kept just one clean sheet in their last seven matches and even that was against a Celta Vigo side who played most of the game with ten men.

An Atletico Madrid win and both teams to score is the best bet, while the best correct score prediction is 2-1 to the Spanish side with each of their last two games having been settled by that scoreline.
