Atletico Madrid and Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Atletico Madrid have won four of their last five games and each of their last four at home. They have conceded in the last three of these home wins, though, while Spurs are on a five-game losing streak but have scored in 12 of their last 13.

Atletico Madrid vs Tottenham Hotspur Predictions

  • Tottenham have lost their last five games, but have scored in 12 of their last 13.
  • Atletico Madrid have won and conceded in each of their last three at home.

Spurs in freefall

Tottenham’s miserable run continued last week as they were beaten 3-1 at home to Crystal Palace, leaving them just a point clear of the Premier League relegation zone and now facing a difficult trip to Madrid.

That was Spurs’ fifth defeat on the spin leaves them without a domestic win since December.

They were improved in their Champions League meetings with the German duo of Eintracht Frankfurt and Borussia Dortmund in January, but Igor Tudor’s side are at rock bottom right now and come up against an in-form Atletico Madrid outfit.

Sorloth to fire Los Colchoneros to victory

Tuesday’s hosts, who sit third in the La Liga standings, have won four of their last five games and their only failure in this period came against league leaders Barcelona.

They have won each of their last four at home, scoring 15 goals in the process, and they should have more than enough to build a first-leg lead against Spurs.

However, Diego Simeone’s side have conceded in six of their last seven and Spurs, for all their faults, have scored in 12 of their last 13 games, so backing them to score in defeat appeals.

Spurs have only scored one goal in each of their last four games, and a repeat of the 3-1 scoreline against Crystal Palace could be on the cards. Los Colchoneros scored three goals in their weekend win over Real Sociedad and have scored at least three in each of their last four at home.

Alexander Sorloth netted one of these three Atletico Madrid goals, and he could be in line for another on Tuesday. He has scored six goals in his last four appearances, notching a hat-trick in his last Champions League outing.
