Back Bahia to be beaten in Belo Horizonte

Bahia’s impressive start to the Serie A campaign will count for little when they head to Belo Horizonte in search of their first win at Atletico MG’s home since 2019.

Rogerio Ceni’s side sit second in the standings after six games and their list of victims is relatively impressive with the likes of Gremio, RB Bragantino and in-form Botafogo all vanquished in the last month.

Bahia need to gain as many points as they can to avoid another battle against relegation, but Atletico MG are very good at home and will probably send them back to Salvador empty-handed.

Galo going for five in a row at home

Galo, who finished third last season, thrashed Caracas 4-0 in the Copa Libertadores last week to make it four wins in a row at Arena MRV. They kept clean sheets in three of those matches and another here cannot be ruled out, despite Bahia’s record of having scored in all of their Serie A away games.

Tricolor drew a blank in their latest cup match against lower-tier opposition, which may suggest they are not as sharp as they need to be here and their previous game at Criciuma was 0-0 until the 83rd minute.

Backing Galo to get the win makes the most sense in the circumstances, but a correct score bet of 2-0 could also have a great chance of landing.
