Barnsley vs Stoke City Predictions
- Sky Sports Red Button
- Barnsley have won their last three league matches and are unbeaten in their last five outings.
- The Tykes have won four of their last six Championship games at Oakwell (D1, L1).
- Stoke are without a win in their last seven away trips, with six of those fixtures ending all square.
Tykes to Maintain Late Play-Off Push
After three straight wins and four victories from their last six league starts at Oakwell, Barnsley are tipped to edge out fellow play-off chasers Stoke when the sides clash in South Yorkshire this week.
The Tykes are firmly on the march towards the top six and go into the midweek fixtures just four points shy of sixth-placed Bournemouth. Stoke also have the same gap to bridge, though it’s Barnsley who have more momentum behind them and a game in hand to come.
Valerian Ismael’s charges shocked promotion favourites Brentford (0-2) ten days ago and have since backed up that result and performance by beating Blackburn (2-1) and Bristol City (0-1).
Confidence is sky high at Oakwell where the Tykes have also amassed 13 points from their last half dozen outings, and they will believe that they can strengthen their play-off bid further on Wednesday against a Stoke side who are winless in seven away trips.
The Potters have taken a point from six of those matches though, so while we fancy Barnsley to edge this, the insurance offered by the draw no bet market looks well worth taking.
The Tykes have also conceded in their last eight starts at Oakwell and that’s factored into our 2-1 correct score prediction.
