Basel vs FK Krasnodar Predictions

Basel won 3-0 away at Meyrin in the Swiss Cup last time out, while Krasnodar recorded a 4-2 victory over Krylya Sovetov in the league at the weekend and both teams appear to be in good form heading into Thursday’s Group C game in the Europa League.

All of the stats suggest we will see both teams score in Thursday’s match and we’ve backed Krasnodar to return to Russia with a share of the spoils.

These two clubs have never met competitively before but, back in January, the pair played a friendly which the hosts Basel won 2-0, not that we believe that will have any bearing on Thursday’s clash.

The performances of both clubs over the last month or so point heavily towards goals being scored at both ends on Thursday, as both teams have scored in four of Basel’s last six and each of KLrasnodar’s last four matches. Basel have actually scored in all of their competitive games this season and Krasnodar have only failed to score in two of their last ten matches in all competitions.

Including pre-season friendlies, Basel haven’t kept a clean sheet at home in their last eleven attempts, while Krasnodar have only failed to score in one of their last six away games, which is why we’re sure the pair will both find the back of the net on Thursday. Basel have won three and lost three of their last six home games and Krasnodar have only lost one of their last six away games, and with that in mind, we’ve backed the pair to play out a 1-1 draw in their first Group C match.

We’re confident that both teams will score on Thursday and have predicted a final scoreline of 1-1. Krasnodar aren’t the form favourites but have been playing very well on the road in recent weeks and will believe they can return to Russia with at least a point to show for their efforts. Basel have been playing really well of late but haven’t been able to keep a single clean sheet at home this season and we believe this will stop the Swiss side from collecting all three points on Thursday.
