Go for goals as Betis head to Bayer

Bayer Leverkusen looked a real force just a few weeks ago but they’ve now gone five games without a win and face a tricky assignment against Real Betis in the Europa League on Thursday.

Bayer were flying until a 5-1 defeat at the hands over Bayern Munich at home and since then they’ve drawn two and lost two.

Betis saw a four game winning run ended at the weekend as they were well beaten 3-0 at Atletico Madrid and recently their away form has tailed off as they have lost two of their last three trips.

There is some appeal in taking a risk on Betis to win at a big price as they are the team in the better form, but instead backing over 2.5 goals looks a good option for the main bet here.

The two sides played out a 1-1 draw in Spain in the reverse fixture two weeks ago but that fixture should perhaps have yielded more goals as there were 26 shots in total with 13 of those on target. Bayer and Betis’ first two group games in this competition also saw over 2.5 goals scored.
