Bayern Munich vs Hannover Predictions

Bayern Munich were able to forget about their disappointing knockout from the UEFA Champions League after they sealed themselves a record fourth consecutive Bundesliga title with a 2-1 win away to FC Ingolstadt last Saturday. This came as no surprise as Bayern Munich had yet another amazingly consistent Bundesliga campaign, standing at least four points clear at the top of the league since week seven. Coach Pep Guardiola has recorded a historic league record win percentage during his time at Bayern Munich (81 wins from 101 Bundesliga matches) and will hope to say farewell in style by adding another to the tally against bottom of the league Hannover 96.

Hannover 96 have had a few weeks now to contemplate their relegation to the second league for the first time in 14 years. Hannover 96 have seen the turnaround since assigning coach Daniel Stendle and must retrospectively regret not replacing former coach Thomas Schaaf sooner. Daniel Stendel has instilled a new-found confidence and brought young and fresh talent from the U21’s up into the first team, which has resulted in some hugely impressive performances and results in a difficult set of fixtures since Stendel took over as coach (W2 D2 L1). Hannover 96 will continue to experiment with some squad rotation in preparation for next season.

Bayern Munich are (obviously) huge favourites for this match and are unbeaten in nine matches in the Bundesliga, winning seven and drawing two. Bayern Munich have, however, conceded a goal in each of their last four matches across all competitions – Manuel Neuer couldn’t add to his record season tally. Both sides are also in decent goal-scoring form; Bayern Munich have scored at least 1 goal in each of their last eight matches in the Bundesliga (averaging 2.25 goals per game) and Hannover 96 have scored at least one goal in their last five (averaging 1.6 goals per game). While Hannover 96 have recovered from their “goal drought”, they haven’t beaten Bayern Munich in any of their last nine meetings and it seems unlikely to change against this season’s Bundesliga champions. Combining that analysis with the statistics below, we expect Bayern Munich to celebrate their fourth consecutive title, and Pep Guardiola’s departure, with a win where both teams score on Saturday. Bayern Munich to win 3-1 at 11/1, therefore, seems a top value bet for this match.
