Bayern Munich vs Tottenham Hotspur Predictions

It’s been over 30-years since these two clubs went head to head and it’s the first time the pair have ever locked horns in a pre-season friendly. Both teams will be confident of claiming the Audi Cup tonight after Spurs defeated Spanish giants Real Madrid yesterday and Bayern humiliated Fenerbahce, but the Germans might have the defeat to Arsenal during the ICC in the back of their heads and that could hand the Premier League side the initiative.

Spurs didn’t create as many chances as Real Madrid yesterday but the English side were much more accurate with their attempts as nine of their twelve shots hit the target compared to just two of Real’s sixteen efforts. In the end, a twenty-second-minute goal from the Spurs and England captain proved enough for the Premier League side to claim their place in the final. Tottenham even made nine changes to their starting eleven at the interval and still managed to hold on to their 1-0 lead and means they will be able to play the majority of those players from the start tonight.

Bayern lost Gnabry in the twentieth minute to injury but saw Muller take his place and two minutes later the Germans opened the scoring through Sanches. Goretzka made it 2-0 in the twenty-eighth minute and just three minutes later Muller scored a third. Coman made it 4-0 five minutes before the break and there was still time for substitute Muller to net his second of the game before the break as the Bundesliga club lead 5-0 at the halfway point. Muller completed his hat trick before the hour mark and even though ex-Bundesliga star Kruse pulled a goal back for the Turkish club it was no more than a consolation as the scoreline ended 6-1.

The form and performances of both clubs heading into tonight’s Final suggest that over 2.5 goals will be produced and that both teams will score, and we’re backing Spurs to win. Both teams scored and over 2.5 goals were produced in four of Spur’s last six and three of Bayern’s last four matches. Spurs have won three of their last six matches, while Bayern’s last game against an English club ended in defeat when they were beaten 2-1 by Arsenal earlier this month, which is why we’re backing Spurs to claim a 2-1 win tonight.

Kane scored the winner against Real Madrid and is the obvious choice as the first goalscorer for the Premier League side in tonight’s Final, while, despite not scoring against Fenerbahce, Lewandowski is likely to lead the line for the Germans and is their best bet for the first goalscorer against Tottenham. We’re confident that both teams will score and over 2.5 goals will be produced in the Audi Cup Final and have predicted a final scoreline of 2-1 to Tottenham Hotspur. Spurs had the harder of the runs to the final and were able to make a lot of changes at halftime to preserve their player’s legs for tonight’s match, while Bayern look good going forward they did struggle against Arsenal earlier this month and should find Spurs an even tougher nut to crack.
