PSV to Win

Reason for tip

PSV can still finish top of the group and with 2.6 goals scored on average per group game, their superior quality all over the pitch and most importantly, firepower up top, can see them to victory here in Norway.

PSV 2-1

Reason for tip

Bodo are famed the world over for being involved in high scoring games and we feel this will be no different, with the Norwegians at least getting on the scoresheet in a likely defeat to PSV.

Bodo Glimt vs PSV Predictions

  • PSV hold onto a faint hope of finishing top with victory.
  • PSV have scored 2.6 goals per-match on average during this group phase.
  • Bodo/Glimt have likely already done enough to secure passage to the Conference League.

Bodo’s season is fizzling out

With just two games remaining of Bodo’s domestic campaign and no chance of winning the title, this is arguably their biggest remaining game of their 2022 season.

Whilst Bodo will guarantee passage into the Conference League knockouts with victory, the likelihood is that they’ve already done enough with bottom-ranked Zurich facing a tough away trip to Arsenal in the other game.

Bodo are entering unknown territory as one of their most influential players, Ola Solbakken, has announced that he will be signing for Roma on a free transfer during the winter break. As such, this will be his last hurrah on the European stage with the club that made his career.

PSV can qualify on a high

After recording an impressive 2-0 win over Arsenal last week, PSV have given themselves an opportunity to leapfrog them on the final day, albeit only with the highly unlikely help of Zurich.

The Eindhoven outfit have averaged 2.6 scored goals per game during this group phase and whilst they’re already through to the knockout phase, there is a considerable advantage to finishing top as they will sidestep the Champions League sides that enter in the intermediate round.

PSV simply have better quality all over the pitch and should be able to justify their favourites status by signing off with a win to extend Bodo’s torrid losing run of group games to four. For smaller stakes, we’re sticking with a 2-1 away win in the correct score market.
