Both Teams To Score - No

Reason for tip

Both teams have not scored in four of Bohemians’ last six home games and also in Derry’s last five away games, so there would seem to be solid prospects of at least one clean sheet here. Both teams have not scored in five of the last seven meetings between these clubs too with Derry only just managing to win the most recent encounter at home 1-0 thanks to Michael Duffy’s late strike.

Derry City 1-0

Reason for tip

A 1-0 away win could be on the cards here after Derry’s recent return to winning ways and Bohs’ current three-game winless run at home. The Candystripes have kept clean sheets in four of their last five away games, but score only three times in that run of games.

Clean sheet on cards in Dalymount Park clash

One of Bohemians and Derry, or perhaps both, look very capable of shutting out their opponents in Thursday’s Premier Division clash between clubs on different trajectories.

The Candystripes have won two in a row to restate their title credentials after a disappointing end to May when they dropped points against Shamrock Rovers, Sligo Rovers and Dundalk.

The last of those three games would have been particularly galling because Dundalk are currently bottom of the table, although they beat Bohemians at home earlier this season. Neither Derry nor Bohs were able to score at Oriel Park on their last visits there and clean sheets for one or the other club have been a common theme in their matches recently.

Candystripes can nick it on the road

Both teams have not scored in four of Bohemians’ last six home games and also in Derry’s last five away games, so there would seem to be solid prospects of at least one clean sheet at Dalymount Park on Thursday.

Both teams have not scored in five of the last seven meetings between these clubs too with Ruaidhrí Higgins’ side winning the most recent encounter at home 1-0 thanks to Michael Duffy’s 85th-minute winner.

A 1-0 away win could be on the cards here after Derry’s recent return to winning ways and Bohs’ current three-game winless run at home.
