- The Bolivians have won just one Copa America game since 1997 and have lost their last ten matches in the competition.
- However, Cesar Farias’ side have managed to score in all but one of their last nine internationals.
- Three of the last four meetings have resulted in a Uruguay win with both teams scoring.
Uruguay to book place in the last eight
Uruguay can seal their progress to the last eight of the Copa America with victory over Bolivia on Thursday evening, though the underdogs could well grab themselves a consolation goal in Cuiaba.
After a poor recent run of results, the Uruguayans turned in an improved display in their 1-1 draw against Chile here on Monday and were undoubtedly the better team over the course of the 90 minutes.
That point means that a win this Thursday will be good enough to send Oscar Tabarez’ side though to the quarter-finals and they’re unlikely to encounter too many problems against a Bolivia side who have lost their last ten games in the Copa America, winning just once in the competition since 1997.
Bolivia have managed to score in all but one of their last nine internationals though, so a small punt on Uruguay to win and both teams to score makes greater appeal than simply lumping on La Celeste at 1/5.
Tabarez’ charges have been struggling for goals and had drawn a blank in four consecutive matches prior to Luis Suarez’ strike against the Chileans, but their forwards can rebuild some confidence in Cuiaba with Bolivia shipping 14 goals in their last five starts. With a straightforward Uruguay success anticipated, 3-1 is the call in the correct score market.
