Bolton vs Scunthorpe Predictions, Betting Tips and Match Previews

Two of League One’s heavyweights clash here. Both Bolton and Scunthorpe have enjoyed decent campaigns so far and thus this is a fairly difficult one to call. On one hand we’ve got the defensive solidity of Bolton and on the other we’ve got the attacking, goal-scoring style of Scunthorpe.

At odds of 10/3, ‘Bolton to Win & Under 2.5 Goals’ looks a good bet ahead of this one. The hosts have been very strong at home, conceding few goals and it is this solid defence that can see them through here.

For all their attacking might, Scunthorpe haven’t been overly impressive at the back on their travels and if Bolton can keep things tight and frustrate then the visitors could easily come unstuck.

Bolton’s home record is very hard to knock right now. The hosts have won each of their last nine (all-competitions) at home. Five of those nine wins have seen less than three match goals go in, while they’ve kept clean sheets on six occasions during this time.

There’s no doubt about it, Scunthorpe have been impressive this season, but their form has started to wane slightly of late, especially on the road. They’re without a victory in two away matches now and their task here looks far from easy.

Bolton will know that if they can keep resolute at the back, then counter-attacking chances will arrive and they are fancied to get the better of this Scunthorpe side, albeit in low-scoring fashion.
