Bolton vs Wycombe Wanderers Predictions
- Both teams have netted in eight successive Bolton games
- Wycombe have only failed to score in two of their last eleven matches
- The Trotters have netted in 11 of their last 12 home fixtures
Can Bolton make history?
Staggeringly, Bolton have met Wycombe four times previously and lost each game without scoring, but Ian Evatt’s side have a good chance of ending that run in this fixture.
The Trotters drew 1-1 at Ipswich in their opening game of the campaign seven days ago, their eighth successive competitive fixture in which both teams have scored.
They have a settled squad going into this campaign and are dark horses among some to finish in the top six, which is not insurmountable if they build on a record of just four home defeats from 2021/22.
Wycombe the early pace-setters
Wycombe showed no ill-effects of losing last season’s play-off final as they hammered Burton 3-0 last weekend to move into top spot in League One.
Gareth Ainsworth’s side, who won 2-0 at this venue in January, saw both teams score in their final four regular fixtures of the 2021/22 campaign.
Play-off aside, they have in fact netted in eight successive matches, and 15 of the last 17, hardly surprising given the likes of Sam Vokes and Gareth McCleary are at their disposal.
I predict that both teams will score in this game, but I suspect Wycombe will take the win, with 2-1 to the visitors my correct score prediction.
