Putting up Bordeaux on here last weekend was a real blot on the old copy book. Two-nil down and a man down after 50 minutes, it didn’t look like it could get much worse. Oh, it did! They conceded four times in the last half hour and were duly dispatched 6-0 by hosts Rennes.

Bordeaux have now lost their last three Ligue 1 games without scoring a single goal. They have conceded ten goals in those three matches and can count themselves lucky to be only a point from safety.

Strasbourg have a great record in this contest

Strasbourg are flying of late; they have won their last three matches, currently sit fourth in the table, and have a great record against Bordeaux. What’s not to like. In stark contrast to Sunday’s host, Strasbourg’s last three Ligue 1 games have resulted in victories, and they have kept clean sheets in two of those games. They are enjoying a great season, currently just two points off the Champions League spot and are expected to go very well on Sunday afternoon.

Should Strasbourg need any further encouragement going into Sunday’s game, they can take great heart from their recent record in this fixture. They have won six of their last seven meetings with Bordeaux and are fancied to repeat the dose once more. Strasbourg in the outright market is the main selection in this one. Whilst for my correct score prediction I think it will be another clean sheet for Julien Stephan’s men and will chance a 3-0 away win.
