Borussia Dortmund vs Darmstadt Betting Tips

Borussia Dortmund’s exceptional winning streak finally came to an end in midweek when they could only manage a 1-1 draw against Hoffenheim.

This was the first time this season that they have scored less than two goals in a match, and only the second time they have scored less than three.

They are still unbeaten in their ten competitive games this season though, and their record of nine wins from ten matches is still something to be proud of.

Add to this the fact they have netted 34 goals in these games and the potency of their tactical approach becomes clear. Pierre Emerick-Aubemeyang, Marco Reus, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and Shinji Kagawa have been a ruthless quartet of attacking talent, and already have 14 goals between them in the Bundesliga alone.

Despite their incredible start, they are still behind Bayern Munich after their midweek draw due to the Champions maintaining their 100% record against Wolfsburg.

Darmstadt have had a very good start to the season following their promotion to the Bundesliga. They have won two of their opening six matches, losing only once and drawing three times.

These three draw came in the first three games of the Bundesliga season, and since then they have beaten Werder Bremen and Bayer Leverkusen either side of an expected loss to Bayern Munich.

This leaves them in 10^th position in the league, a position they would be very happy to maintain for the remainder of the season.

This is the first meeting between these sides since 1982, so there shouldn’t be any emphasis put on the previous results between the teams.

Darmstadt, unlike fellow promotion winners Ingolstadt, haven’t been employing a particularly defensive approach so far in the Bundesliga. This will play straight into Dortmund hands and I think they’ll get back to winning ways in a typically high scoring match. Odds of 11/10 for a Dortmund win and Over 3.5 goals may look short, but I think they offer a good amount of value.
