Borussia Dortmund vs Eintracht Frankfurt Predictions

Borussia Dortmund failed to score for the second time in five matches in midweek as they fell to a 1-0 defeat to PAOK, allowing Krasnodar to take the top spot in their Europa League group.

This makes it three defeats and two wins in their last five matches in all competitions, a disappointing record considering how well they can play.

Borussia Dortmund’s home form tells a different story though. They may have lost to PAOK, but before that they had won 11 of their 12 competitive games this season, drawing the remaining one.

This leaves them with the second best home record in the Bundesliga, with six wins and one draw giving them 19 points from their seven home matches. They have averaged over three goals per game on home turf as well.

This leaves them in 2nd position overall in the Bundesliga, with five points separating them from Bayern Munich and a huge nine point gap opening up between them and 3rd.

Eintracht Frankfurt have slipped down to 13th position because of their recent form, which has seen them lose four of their last six and win just one of their last 12 games in all competitions.

Seven of these 12 games have ended in defeat for Eintracht Frankfurt and they come into this game on the back of a six match winless streak in all competitions.

Borussia Dortmund have won five of their last six meetings with Frankfurt, scoring 12 goals along the way and conceding just three.

It’s looking like the usual bet for this one. Frankfurt have conceded six goals in their last three games and they were against the likes of Mainz, Darmstadt, and Bayer Leverkusen.

They face a much more formidable attacking force on Sunday, with Pierre-Emerick Aubemayang, Marco Reus, and Henrikh Mkhitaryan netting 30 Bundesliga goals between them already and helping Dortmund on their way to scoring 20 goals in their last seven Bundesliga matches.

Odds of 5/6 for a Borussia Dortmund Win and Over 3.5 Goals look good to me, and I’m also going for a 4-1 Dortmund win at 11/1.
