Borussia Dortmund vs Qabala Predictions
Borussia Dortmund have come out of the other end of their mini spell of poor form and are back to their best now.
Their 100% start to the season ended when they drew 1-1 at Hoffenheim, and they ended up going on a five match winless run in all competitions. But a 2-0 win at Mainz brought them out of this spell and they have now won five matches on the trot.
This included a 3-1 win at Qabala to take their Europa League Group C points tally to seven points from their opening three games. They have a three point lead over 2nd placed Krasnodar and their opponents on Thursday have just a single point to their name.
As well as having not won in the Europa League yet, Qabala are also on a four match winless streak in all competitions. They started this with that 3-1 loss to Dortmund and followed it with two goalless draws and a 2-1 loss at the weekend.
This has let Qarabag take a five point lead at the top of the Azerbaijan Premyer Liga, whilst Dortmund are also five points adrift of Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich.
Borussia Dortmund have been scoring goals for fun this season. Their winless streak did see their attacking play suffer a bit, but their 20 goals in the last five matches show that they are back to business.
Their attacking quartet of Pierre Emerick-Aubemayang, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Shinji Kagawa, and Marco Reus have recovered from their mini drought and started firing again in recent weeks.
This takes their combined total goals to 45 in their 16 matches in the Bundesliga and Europa League. It’s worth noting that Aubemayang terrorised the Qabala defence last time out, scoring a hat trick to lead his side to victory.
I’m expecting Dortmund to hammer the visitors on Thursday, and with odds of 1.650 on offer for a Dortmund -2.5 Asian Handicap I think that’s the best bet to go with alongside a 4-0 correct score prediction at 6/1.
