      Borussia Dortmund to Win

      Reason for tip

Bayern Munich and Manchester City are the only teams to have beaten Borussia Dortmund this season and they should have too much for Villarreal, who have failed to score in three of their four Champions League matches this season.

      Borussia Dortmund 2-1

      Reason for tip

While Villarreal have struggled in the final third in the Champions League, they could still threaten Dortmund, who have conceded 11 goals in four European games, so back the Bundesliga side to come through and win 2-1.

      Borussia Dortmund vs Villarreal Predictions

      • Dortmund have lost just two of their 17 games this season
      • BvB have conceded 11 goals in their four Champions League matches
      • Villarreal have scored in just one of their four Champions League games this term

Dortmund have been the kings of entertainment

Borussia Dortmund have been the team to watch in the Champions League this season as they have scored 13 goals and conceded 11 in their four games to date, and they should be able to put on a show when they entertain Villarreal on Tuesday.

The Bundesliga outfit have been beaten by runaway league leaders Bayern Munich in domestic competition and by Manchester City in Europe, but those are the only reverses they have suffered.

That should give them plenty of confidence when they take on Villarreal, whose European exploits have not quite matched what have been excellent recent results in La Liga.

      Villarreal struggling on European stage

The Yellow Submarine made it six wins in seven domestic games with a 2-1 home win over Real Mallorca on Saturday, but it has been a different story on the continent.

They drew 2-2 with Juventus but failed to score in defeats to Tottenham, Manchester City and Pafos, so there need to be signs of improvement on the Champions League stage.

Their recent league results and Dortmund’s defensive issues in teh competition point to the Sapniards getting on the scoresheet, but they look unlikely to win, so a straight home success is preferred with correct-score enthusiasts pointed to a 2-1 win for BvB.
