Borussia Monchengladbach vs Augsburg Betting Tips

Borussia Monchengladbach’s 5^th league loss of the season on Saturday saw manager Lucian Favre resign from his duties.

This 1-0 loss against Cologne made it six losses in seven competitive matches for the 3^rd place finishers last season.

Their only win came before the Bundesliga season began when they progressed in the DFP Pokal with a 4-1 win against St Pauli.

Since then, they have conceded 15 goals, scored twice, and picked up a grand total of zero points, putting them rock bottom of the Bundesliga table and their Champions League Group table.

Augsburg haven’t exactly had the best time so far though, especially considering their 5^th place finish in the league last campaign.

Before their 2-0 win at home to Hannover on Sunday, they had lost three of their opening four Bundesliga games and lost to Athletic in the Europa League group stages.

Their tally now stands at four points from five games, with a 1-1 draw against Eintracht Frankfurt being their only positive result prior to their defeat of Hannover.

This leaves them in a disappointing 14^th position in the league table, and they will want to pick up where they left off against Hannover against the dramatically out of form Monchengladbach.

Augsburg actually have a very good record against their opponents as well. They did the double over them in the Bundesliga last season, and picked up four points from them the season before as well.

This makes it four games without defeat against Monchengladbach, three of which ended in a win for the visitors on Wednesday.

Borussia Monchengladbach haven’t found the back of the net in any of their last three games, with Augsburg only scoring four times in their last six matches. This makes odds of 4/5 for Under 2.5 Goals look pretty good value.

Considering Monchengladbach’s terrible start to the season, I think an Augsburg Win or Draw Double Chance at 7/10 look attractive as well.
