Borussia Monchengladbach vs Darmstadt Betting Tips

After a shocking start to the Bundesliga season where they lost six games in a row in all competitions, Borussia Monchengladbach looked to be over it.

They went on a streak of ten wins in 15 matches in all competitions and only lost once, which saw them rapidly climb the Bundesliga table after their horrendous start.

However, the last couple of weeks have seen them slip again. They have lost three games in a row now, with Manchester City, Bayer Leverkusen, and Werder Bremen all beating them in separate competitions.

They have managed to remain as high as 5^th in the Bundesliga table though, with three points between them and their 3^rd place finishing position from last season and two between them and 5^th placed Bayer Leverkusen.

Darmstadt began their season in good form considering they were one of the two recently promoted teams in the league.

They didn’t lose any of their opening four Bundesliga matches and picked up nine points from their opening six games.

But their season has taken a turn for the worse, and they will be incredibly happy to see the start of the winter break so they can begin rebuilding their stamina and confidence.

Darmstadt have only won one of their last seven matches in all competitions and have lost four times, which has seen them start a slow slide down the Bundesliga table.

They come into this match in 12^th position, but they are only four points above the Bundesliga relegation zone.

These two sides last met in the DFB Pokal back in 2013, with Darmstadt winning on penalties after a goalless draw. Before that they hadn’t met each other competitively since 1982.

I can’t see another goalless draw on Sunday. Monchengladbach have netted 11 times in their last five games and shipped a huge 17 at the wrong end of the pitch, whereas Darmstadt have let in five goals in their last two matches.

All of Monchengladbach’s last seven matches have seen three or more goals scored, so I think odds of 3/4 for Over 2.5 Match Goals are incredibly good value. I’m also backing a 3-1 Monchengladbach win at 11/1.
