Bournemouth host Chelsea in late kick off
We’re treated to an evening kick off on Saturday night as the Premier League returns following an international break, with Bournemouth playing host to Chelsea at the Vitality Stadium.
The Cherries have an impressive home record with just one defeat in their last seven dating back into last season, while there have been some positive signs at Chelsea under new boss Enzo Maresca.
This is a tricky game to call so I’ve looked towards the goals markets and even at a fairly short price both teams to score looks a strong play for our main bet.
Both attacks capable of breaking through
Bournemouth won a five-goal thriller at Everton in the last round of fixtures and both teams have scored in all three of their Premier League games so far this season. The Cherries have a good scoring record at home as they have scored in eight consecutive games at Dean Court, and their attack is firing despite the departure of Dominic Solanke over the summer.
Both teams have scored in Chelsea’s last three games across all competitions and they have only drawn a blank against Manchester City so far this season, and they are yet to keep a Premier League clean sheet so both teams to score looks a strong play here.
Chelsea may have the edge
Bounrnemouth had to dig deep against a poor Everton side last time out, whereas Chelsea were perhaps unlucky to only take a point against Crystal Palace. Bournemouth do have a strong home record with just one defeat in their last eight but Chelsea are perhaps a level above most of the sides they have faced during that run and the visitors may be able to come away with the spoils here.
A 3-2 win is the correct score prediction as the Cherries haven’t lost a home game by more than one goal since a 4-0 defeat to Liverpool back in January, while Chelsea conceded twice in victory against Wolves and have conceded exactly two goals in three of their five games this season.
Finally, Cherries’ forward Antoine Semenyo looks an interesting anytime scorer option after a strong start. Semenyo has made a contribution in all three of Bournemouth’s games this term with two goals and an assist and he can continue his good form with a goal against Chelsea on Saturday.
