      Bournemouth vs Newcastle Predictions

Bournemouth’s first season in the Premier League has been somewhat marred by serious injuries to some of their key players.

Max Gradel, Tyrone Mings, and Callum Wilson have all suffered bad knee injuries, keeping them out for the majority of the season. This has drastically reduced their chances of survival.

Bournemouth have only picked up one point from a possible 15 since Wilson left the field after his knee gave way against Stoke.

They have lost five of their last six games in all competitions, with a home draw against fellow new boys Watford being their only vaguely positive result.

This has seen them slip down the Premier League table, and they now sit perilously close to the drop zone in 17th position.

Newcastle have seven points from their opening 11 games, one fewer than Bournemouth. This leaves them in 18th position, but they know that a win on Saturday would lift them out of the drop zone.

Newcastle haven’t got a much better record than their opponents though. They have lost six of their last nine games in all competitions, with one win and two draws making up the rest of their results.

Despite this poor form, there have been signs of a Newcastle recovery in recent weeks. They were very unlucky to lose to north east rivals Sunderland 3-0 a few weeks ago, and they arguably deserved more against Stoke last weekend.

They also showed their potential with a 6-2 thrashing of Norwich before their loss to Sunderland, so it’s been three fairly positive performances from the Tyneside team.

I think they definitely have a chance of getting something from this game. Their results have belied their performances recently and it’s only a matter of time before they get the win they deserve. Odds of 4/6 for a Newcastle Win or Draw Double Chance look really good value as well considering Bournemouth’s shocking form, so that’s what I’m backing.
