Bradford vs Millwall Predictions

Bradford and Millwall are two of the stronger teams in League One right now – the pair come into this game in pretty good form having lost just once between them in their last ten combined. With both clubs shaping up nicely of late, we’re talking about a fixture that is quite hard to call either way.

At times this season these two clubs have often been the antithesis of each other. Bradford have focussed on having a sturdy defence and haven’t quite hit the attacking heights that some clubs have, while Millwall have focussed very much on scoring lots of goals but, at the same time, have conceded a few too many. Bradford’s aforementioned solidity could be the key to success in this one.

At odds of 5/4, the hosts are worth siding with. It’s fancied that if they can remain solid at the back then it shouldn’t take the greatest effort to profit at the other end.

The home side have made being tough to beat their primary focus this season and they’ve definitely succeeded in that respect, especially at home. Having played 14 times at Valley Parade, Bradford remain one of only two unbeaten sides (at home) in the entire division. They’ve conceded just nine goals and have kept seven clean sheets.

From a defensive point of view, the stats certainly paint the hosts in a favourable light, but they’ve also thrived going forward at home. Stuart McCall’s side have scored 21 goals on home turf.

The visitors certainly aren’t pushovers, but they’ve been far less effective away from home this season. Having played 13 away matches, they’ve lost six times and have conceded a rather alarming 27 goals – one of the highest totals in the league.

In truth, it’s hard to see Bradford failing to continue their strong home form here. They have the defensive solidity to keep Millwall in check, while it would be surprising if they couldn’t break down what looks like a very shaky back-line.
