Tip Reasoning

  • Swindon have won nine of their 16 away league games
  • Bradford are on a run of four successive defeats
  • The Bantams have picked up just one victory in their last 13 at Valley Parade

Can Mark Hughes have an impact?

His arrival at Valley Parade last week caught a lot of people by surprise and Mark Hughes did not get off to the best start as Bradford boss through losing 2-0 to Mansfield last weekend.

That was the Bantams’ fourth successive defeat, a run during which they have scored just once, while they have picked up only one victory in their last thirteen on home soil.

There may well be a new manager bounce, but it will take a dramatic turnaround to stop Bradford’s slump.

They have picked up just four of the last available 24 points and have registered only two wins against sides currently in the top eight all season.

Swindon eying the top seven

Swindon lost 2-1 to Salford last time out, thus ending a three game winning streak, but they still sit on the cusp of the play-off places with games in hand.

Ben Garner’s side have the second best away record in League Two, picking up 30 points on the road, with only two of their defeats coming against sides in the bottom half.

This will be a tough test for them, and Bradford under Hughes are a bit of an unknown, but they have won two of their last four on the road and lost only three of their last ten at all venues.

I think Swindon could pick an important victory in this one, so an away win is my initial selection, picking 2-0 as a correct score prediction.
