Over 2.5 Match Goals

Reason for tip

At least three goals have been scored in two of Braga’s last three home games while at least three goals have been scored in three of Maccabi Tel Aviv’s last four away matches. The Israeli side like to attack, but lack the mentality to shut up shop and tend to concede late goals.

Braga 2-1

Reason for tip

Four of Braga’s last five European games have seen over 2.5 goals scored and this one should also feature a few goals with the home side scorers of two or more in four of their last six overall. A 2-1 win is forecast because Maccabi Tel Aviv have in-form forwards and nothing to lose in this game.

Braga vs Maccabi Tel Aviv Predictions

  • At least three goals have been scored in two of Braga’s last three home games
  • At least three goals have been scored in three of Maccabi Tel Aviv’s last four away matches
  • Four of Braga’s last five European games have seen over 2.5 goals scored

Tel Aviv travel to The Quarry

Braga are expected to get their Europa League campaign off to a winning start at home to Maccabi Tel Aviv on Thursday and the match at the Quarry should be an entertaining affair.

The Israeli side are top of their domestic table at the moment and arrive in Portugal on the back of a nine-match winning streak that includes four victories in Europa League qualifiers.

Their attack is led by former Israel Under-20 star Dor Turgeman, who is a capable goalscorer, but they do not rely on one player for their goals. They created plenty of opportunities and scored five goals at TSC Baka Topola in their last European away game, but they lacked the mentality to get the clean sheet by conceding a stoppage-time consolation in a 5-1 win.

Back at least three goals in Braga

Their hosts had hit the crossbar and missed an open goal before that too, so there should be no expectations of a clean sheet for them in Portugal.  Braga, who reached the knockout stages of this competition last season, really should win this clash by a couple of goals if they turn up in the right mood.

But a recent 2-0 home setback against Vitoria Guimaraes and two early season draws at their place make them seem a little short at around 1/2 for the victory.

Instead, back over 2.5 goals at a better price because Braga have not shut out any of their last four opponents at the Quarry while they have scored at least two goals themselves in four of their last six overall.
