Brighton vs Huddersfield Predictions
Brighton claimed a vital 3 points last weekend when Bobby Zamora claimed a 1-0 win for the Seagulls at Blackburn to end an 8 match winless run which was threatening to destroy all the good work they did over the opening few months of the season.
They are 6 points off the top two now but automatic promotion was always likely to be a big ask even when they were topping the table but they can now focus on getting back on track and securing a play-off place. They are currently 5th but with likes of Ipswich, Sheffield Wednesday and Birmingham going well another 3 points would be a major boost here.
Huddersfield have been going very well of late under David Wagner and have pulled themselves out of the relegation scrap with a 5 match unbeaten run. They have been playing some good football too and have scored 12 times in their last 5 matches although left themselves a little open at the back in the FA Cup this week as Reading fought back to secure a 5-2 win although the sending off of Jonathan Hogg when the Terriers were 2-0 up was unquestionably the turning point.
They haven’t failed to score in any of their last 11 matches in all competitions and will play with attacking intent here so it should be an open game and backing both teams to score at 5/6 looks a sensible bet, especially given Brighton’s morale boosting win at Ewood last Saturday.
That could prove a key turning point in their season and with the AmEx crowd behind them they could get the better of Huddersfield who may have one or two tired legs after their midweek cup defeat in which they named a strong side. Therefore consider backing Brighton to win 2-1 at 8/1.
