Brisbane Roar vs Adelaide United Predictions
Brisbane Roar qualified for the Hyundai A-League Finals series last season thanks to squad wages violations committed by 3rd place Perth Glory, which resulted in them being demoted to 7th position.
But they don’t look like they want their qualification to the finals to be left down to chance this season, because they have started the campaign very well.
They won both of their opening two A-League games, with Western Sydney Wanderers losing 3-1 to them and Central Coast Mariners losing 2-1.
Their 3rd game of the season didn’t go so well though, with a 78th minute goal from Blake Powell seeing them lose 3-2 at Wellington Phoenix.
Their six point total still leaves them up in 3rd position at this early stage of the season, which is much better than their opponents’ second from bottom position.
Adelaide United have only managed to pick up two points from their opening three games. They drew their opening two matches against Melbourne Victory and Western Sydney Wanderers. Their most recent result saw them lose 3-1 at Perth Glory.
They don’t look like the team that challenged for the top spot in the Hyundai A-League for much of last season. They eventually ended the season in 3rd position, with a late season slump possibly denting their confidence at the beginning of this campaign.
The last five meetings between these sides has seen Adelaide United win twice, with Brisbane Roar taking the three points in the other three games. Perhaps more interesting is the fact that three of the last four meetings have ended with three or more goals scored.
This, along with Brisbane Roar’s start to the season seeing all their games end in over two goals, makes a bet of Over 2.5 Match Goals at odds of 3/4 look promising enough to put some money down.
