Brisbane Roar vs Melbourne City Predictions
Brisbane Roar started their season very well as they looked to improve on their fairly disappointing campaign last term.
They won three of their opening four Hyundai A-League matches and have only lost twice all season, with both of those defeats coming away from home.
Brisbane Roar’s home form has seen them pick up 13 points from a possible 15 in the A-League, and it’s been these home successes that have led them to being within touching distance of the top spot.
They are in 2nd position, five points adrift of leaders Western Sydney Wanderers but with a game in hand on them.
Melbourne City aren’t far off their opponents though, with just one point separating them from the 2nd placed side. A win for the visitors on Sunday would see them move into 2nd place themselves.
The visitors are in excellent form coming into this match as well. They have won all of their last four matches and have scored 16 goals on the way.
Melbourne City seem to be excellent on the road as well. They haven’t lost away from home in the A-League since the middle of October and have won three, drawn two, and lost one of their six away days in the league so far this season.
They also have the better of it in terms of recent history. Melbourne City haven’t lost to Brisbane Roar in their last four meetings and have won three times during that period, although only one of those wins was away from home.
This should be a very entertaining match. Both teams are in good form and have excellent records at home and away respectively. The bookies are heavily favouring Brisbane Roar for the match as well, so I think backing a Melbourne City Win or Draw Double Chance at 8/11 is an excellent idea.
I’m also going to back it ending a 2-1 Melbourne City win at 10/1 due to their recent goalscoring form.
