The tale of the two entertainers

Brisbane Roar have been an entertaining side to watch of late as all of their previous five matches have witnessed at least three goals being scored. They welcome Wellington Phoenix to the Moreton Daily Stadium hoping to bounce back at the first time of asking after losing a 3-2 thriller against Western United last time out. It was a game that perfectly summed up the way their games have panned out of late; their defence has struggled to limit their opponent’s chances and are conceding far too easily. They have, however, been able to convert their own chances and that’s why we’ve seen so many goals in their recent fixtures.

The visitors come into this one off the back of a 2-1 victory over Perth Glory in their last match and they’ll hope to build on that result here. On home soil, Wellington have fared reasonably well, but it’s on the road where they’ve struggled. Despite only playing six away games so far this campaign, the visitors have conceded 17 goals (nearly three goals per game on average) and scored just three. Their lack of defensive solidity is alarming and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Brisbane gifted a plethora of chances.
