Bulgaria vs Finland Predictions
- Finland have won four of their last five internationals, including a superb 0-2 friendly victory over France on Wednesday.
- Finland comfortably won last month’s reverse fixture 2-0 in Helsinki – their fourth clean sheet in five.
- Bulgaria have lost four of their last five internationals.
- The host’s 3-0 victory over minnows Gibraltar on Wednesday was just their second triumph in their last 20 matches (D6, L12).
Fins Look Terrific Value at Odds-Against
In-form Finland can keep themselves firmly in the running to top League B-4 when they square off against Bulgaria in Sofia this weekend.
After securing qualification in behind Italy for Euro 2020, Marku Kanerva’s side have carried their momentum through to the Nations League and are just a point behind Wales going into this week’s remaining group fixtures.
Finland lost their opener 0-1 against the Welsh in Helsinki, but have since won three from three, including a cosy 2-0 home victory against Bulgaria last month. Their confidence and progression shone throughout a superb 0-2 friendly win against the French in midweek, and further success here in Sofia will set things up nicely for a winner takes all showdown against Wales next week.
The Fins should encounter few problems this weekend based on their fine recent form and Bulgaria’s prolonged downturn.
A far cry from the formidable Bulgarian outfit of the 1990’s, this current incarnation have won just two of their last 20 internationals, losing their last 12 including three defeats from four in this competition.
Finland simply look tremendous value to land the spoils here at odds-against and we’re also predicting another 0-2 score-line in their favour. The visitors have kept four clean sheets in five and can keep this weak Bulgarian attack at arms-length again.
