Hull City Double Chance (Win or Draw)

Reason for tip

Burnley are yet to score more than a single goal in a league match this term while they are winless in two. That doesn’t inspire confidence at a strong odds on price when you consider that a currently unbeaten Hull City provide the opposition.

Draw 1-1

Reason for tip

Vincent Kompany’s new style of play at Burnley hasn’t yielded many goals yet and each of their three Championship clashes this term produced under 2.5 in total. The same can be said in eight of the last nine H2H encounters, with the last two meetings ending 1-1!

Burnley vs Hull City Predictions

  • Hull City remain unbeaten in this Championship season, beating relegated Norwich last time out
  • Burnley haven’t scored more than one goal in any of their league games under Kompany
  • Eight of the last nine H2H meetings produced under 2.5 goals, with the last two ending level

Can Turf Moor become Hull’s happy place?

This new-look Burnley style under the tutelage of Vincent Kompany has looked solid enough after the opening few rounds without exactly setting the world alight (W1, D1, L1).

The betting markets seem to be leaning towards last season still with regards to the strong odds-on price about a Burnley win, so we feel looking elsewhere can provide better value.

Casting further doubt upon the relative chances of Burnley in regards to their short price is the fact that they failed to beat Hull in three of their last four meetings, and that’s not to mention their 50% D/L rate as home betting favourites last season.

Burnley may get mauled by the Tigers

With a host of new signings from the deep pockets of the new owner, Shota Arveladze and his Hull City side have shot up to the peak of the Championship table after three unbeaten rounds (W2, D1).

Perhaps most impressively, they defeated serial second-tier winners Norwich, as they now set their sights on another relegated side. Playing as the outsiders doesn’t bother Hull, as they’re yet to fall even when the bookies did not fancy them (W1, D1)!

Given the frankly ludicrous price on table-topping Hull City to continue their run with victory, we predict that they can get at least a point from this game with a double chance selection. We suggest a smaller stakes bet on a 1-1 draw as Burnley are undoubtedly tough customers, but if you’re feeling bold… go for the win at a big price.
