Liverpool and Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Liverpool have won all seven Premier League home games this season and have won four of their last five meetings with Manchester United, who head into this game having lost three of their last four in all competitions. The Red Devils can pack a punch on the transition, though, and Liverpool have conceded in 17 of their 24 competitive outings this term.

Liverpool 3-1

Reason for tip

Liverpool have scored exactly three goals on eight occasions this season and have won by a 3-1 scoreline five times. Manchester United have conceded three or more goals nine times in 24 matches this term but do have plenty of threat at the other end.

Mohamed Salah To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Mohamed Salah has scored 12 goals in 12 appearances against Manchester United and an incredible 11 of these have come in his last six meetings with the Red Devils. He has seven goal contributions in his last six outings for Liverpool and can punish Erik ten Hag’s men again.

Liverpool vs Manchester United Predictions

  • Liverpool have won all seven Premier League home games this season.
  • The Reds have conceded in 17 of their 24 competitive games this term.
  • Mohamed Salah has scored 11 goals in his last seven meetings with Manchester United.

Rampant Reds look to consolidate top spot

Liverpool’s six-match unbeaten streak came to an end on Thursday night but, with Jurgen Klopp fielding a vastly-changed team in Belgium, not much should be read into that defeat and they can get back on track against their arch rivals on Sunday.

The Reds head into gameweek 17 top of the Premier League after beating Crystal Palace last weekend. They have lost just once in the league all season and have taken 13 points from the last 15 available.

To make matters even more ominous for the crestfallen visitors, Klopp’s men are yet to drop a point at Anfield and have won their seven home games by an aggregate scoreline of 21-5.

ten Hag teeters on the brink

That will not make good reading for the Manchester United fans who saw their side unceremoniously dumped out of Europe in midweek, a loss that made it three defeats from their last four in all competitions and leaves manager Erik ten Hag on the brink of a festive sacking.

The Red Devils can pack a punch going forward, however, especially against teams who tend to push forward. Their transitional play is occasionally excellent and, with Liverpool expected to dominate possession, that should give their attackers a chance to get on the scoresheet against a side that have conceded in 17 of their 24 competitive games this season.

Salah set to shine again

One goal is unlikely to be enough for Manchester United, though. Their defence has been catastrophically bad at times this term, with 39 goals conceded in 24 outings so far. They have lost four of their last five Premier League meetings with Liverpool, so backing a home win and both teams to score appeals.

A 3-1 correct score prediction is an attractive option, too. Liverpool have scored exactly three goals on eight occasions this season and five of those have been 3-1 wins, three of which have come at Anfield. Manchester United have conceded three or more goals nine times this season.

For anytime goalscorer punters, it is hard to ignore Mohamed Salah. The Liverpool attacker has scored 12 goals in 12 appearances against Manchester United, while his last six meetings with the Red Devils have yielded an incredible 11 goals and four assists. He comes into Sunday’s game in fine form with seven goal contributions in his last six appearances and it would be a surprise if he didn’t put the visiting defence to the sword again.
