Burnley vs Millwall Predictions
- Both teams have scored in all three of Burnley’s home Championship games this season – all were drawn.
- Both teams have scored in four of Millwall’s last seven away league matches
- Millwall have conceded exactly two goals in all three of their Championship away games in 2022-23.
Burnley still vulnerable at the back
Burnley will be bouncing after dishing out a 5-1 thrashing of Wigan last time out, but there are still issues with Vincent Kompany’s defence that Millwall could exploit at Turf Moor on Tuesday. The Clarets boss is continuing to play Charlie Taylor alongside Taylor Harwood-Bellis at the back and, while they both might be great on the ball and suited to Kompany’s way of playing, neither are the dominant aerial force every team in the division needs.
There’s no denying that Burnley fans are loving what they seeing right now and the five goals they scored at the DW Stadium are proof of how far they have come. When Josh Brownhill is chopping back onto his weak foot and slamming the ball into the bottom corner, you know something special is happening.
Burnley are favourites to win Tuesday’s game against an out-of-form Millwall, but they were fancied in each of their three Championship games at Turf Moor this term and all three were drawn. The common denominator between all three is that both teams scored in each and that makes more sense as a bet at even money than backing Burnley to win at 7/10 does.
Lions left with red faces by Reading
The Lions were nowhere near good enough at home to Reading on Saturday as the pink-shirted Royals rode off with all three points. But Gary Rowett’s side are an honest bunch and will roll their sleeves up to give it their all again on Tuesday.
They are also pretty useful from set-pieces, which could be a solid avenue to getting on the scoresheet at Turf Moor. Both teams to score has landed in four of their last seven away league games and, when allied to Burnley’s home sequence this term, reveals there is value in the price.
A 2-1 Clarets win is taken, however, in correct score betting because Burnley have scored eight goals across their last two league games while conceding four and Millwall have shipped exactly two goals in each of their three away trips this season.
