Burton Albion vs Preston Predictions
Burton Albion picked up a massive result in the context of their season on Thursday night. Their win at fellow strugglers Rotherham was their first away from home this season and it sends them into this match on a really positive note.
The Brewers have been reasonably good at the Pirelli this term and their 5 home wins are the main reason why they are above the relegation zone and not in it. They haven’t been found as lacking in the final third as some might have predicted and both teams have scored in 6 of their last 7 games. This certainly represents the sort of game that they will be targeting 3 points from, so they are likely to be quite positive here and Preston are unlikely to shut up shop either against one of the league’s bottom six.
Burton have gone 8 matches without a clean sheet so you’d certainly expect the visitors to get chances. Like Burton, there have been goals at both ends in plenty of their recent games. That has happened in 9 of their last 10 Championship games and that reflects on the more positive approach being employed by Simon Grayson this season. It has produced mixed results in truth, with some impressive wins but there have also been matches where their defensive frailties have been plain for all to see.
They’ve already suffered 6-0 and 5-0 away defeats this season and were beaten 4-1 at home by Leeds on Boxing Day, however, there have been plenty of good days too so they’ve gone from being a steady, consistent kind of side into something much more erratic.
Both teams have scored in 6 of their last 7 Championship away games and with goals following Burton around of late too, backing Both Teams to Score at 5/6 looks like it could represent real value here.
