CA Talleres De Cordoba vs Racing Club Predictions

Tuesday’s Superliga action sees Talleres doing battle with Racing at the Estadio Mario Alberto Kempes. With both teams coming into the game 4 matches unbeaten, a close affair is expected to be in order.

After a dismal 2-0 defeat at Defensa y Justicia in the middle of October, pressure was really building on Talleres boss Juan Vojvoda but the situation is now far calmer and he finally looks to be settling into the Matador dugout. La T are clearly not the force they were last season under Frank Kudelka, who lead them to Copa Libertadores place before departing but the side are at least showing signs of improvement and now find themselves in 11th place.

Nonetheless, Talleres have drawn both of their home games during their current unbeaten streak and that’s slightly concerning considering said fixtures have been against newly promoted duo San Martin de Tucuman and Aldosivi. Talleres are, however, unbeaten in 5 home league matches, which proves they are difficult to beat in front of the home crowd but those taking to the pitch will be looking to find more of an attacking touch, having failed to score in either of the aforementioned draws.

Meanwhile, Racing also surprisingly fired a blank last time out, being held to a home stalemate by struggling Banfield. Still top at the time of writing with an impressive 30 points from 13 matches, La Academia have made an excellent start to the campaign all the same and they’ll be itching to bounce back to winning ways in this trip to Cordoba.

Eduardo Coudet has done a very good job since taking over Racing at the start of 2018 and with a squad stacked with attacking talent, he’s got the team playing in a very attractive manner. Indeed, the visitors are the third highest scorers in the Superliga and having won 4 of their last 5 away league matches, they certainly won’t be bringing a defensive game plan to Tuesday’s match.

Ultimately, we think this will be a very close game. Racing are undoubtedly the slightly stronger of the two and have the better players on paper but Talleres are grinding out results well lately and are always a tough nut to crack at the Kempes.

As such, it’s backing a draw that has captured our attention and at a very appealing price, that’s where our money is going. Both teams will be confident in taking something from the match and with both meetings between the two over the last couple of seasons having ended 1-1, that’s a scoreline we fancy the two sharing once again.
