Cardiff didn’t start the season particularly well when they drew their first three Championship games, but the three wins that followed saw Cardiff go the first six games of the season without defeat.

Back to back losses against Hull and Rotherham brought them back to earth, but since then they have embarked on another unbeaten streak.

That streak currently stands on four league matches, with two wins and two draws giving them a haul of eight points from a possible 12.

Their high amount of draws have only left them in 8^th position though, although a win on Monday would send them above Reading and to within one point of the playoff positions.

The Welsh outfit will be pretty confident of picking up a win as well, because their opponents haven’t made much of an impression so far this season.

Bristol City have only won two of their opening 12 Championship matches. The most recent of these was last Friday when they beat Nottingham Forest, but they have since returned to their usual ways and lost to Brighton.

This was their 6^th Championship loss of the season, with their two wins and four draws making up a total of ten points.

It leaves them hanging just above the drop zone in the Championship, although a win in Wales on Monday could see them move as high as 17^th.

Cardiff don’t just have the better form than Bristol City. They also have the better of the recent history between the sides with three wins from their last four matches.

They also haven’t lost on home turf against Bristol City since 2002, a run which stretches back eight matches. Seven of these have ended in victory for Cardiff.

This makes odds of 27/20 for a Cardiff City win on Monday look incredibly appealing, and that’s the bet I’m going for alongside a 2-0 win for the home side at 10/1.
