      Carpi vs Atalanta Predictions

Carpi were expected to struggle in their first ever Serie A season and they have found life hard, lying in the bottom three of the table for much of the season. Coach Fabrizio Castori is in his second spell in charge of the club having been sacked in September but reinstated just a few weeks later, but he faces a huge task to keep the struggling minnows in the Italian top flight. Carpi have won just four league matches all season and their tally of 23 goals is lower than any other Serie A team apart from Udinese.

Atalanta started the season well enough, but a disastrous run of 11 matches without a victory has seen them slip down the Serie A table. With star player Alejandro Gómez injured things have gone from bad to worse for coach Edoardo Reja, who will see a game against Carpi as a chance to get back to winning ways after seeing his side keep three clean sheets in their last six games.

      Reason for Betting Tips

Games between struggling teams are rarely goal-laden thrillers and Atalanta’s trip to Carpi is likely to be no different. Atalanta have had three 0-0 draws in their six previous Serie A matches, while Carpi are the second-lowest scoring team in the league. The game to be goalless at 13/2 with bet365 is therefore a good option for a correct score bet.

      Atalanta: LDDLDD

      Head-to-Head

This will be only the second ever meeting between Carpi and Atalanta. In the reverse fixture earlier in the season, Atalanta won 3-0 at home thanks to goals by Mauricio Pinilla, Alejandro Gómez and Luca Cigarini.

      Statistics

These teams are among the most out-of-form in Europe, with Carpi having failed to collect three points in any of their last six games, while Atalanta’s winless run stretches to 11 matches. Carpi’s top goalscorer this season, Marco Borriello, now plays for Atalanta.

      Team News

Carpi: The hosts will be without three players for the match, with Matteo Fedele, Igor Bubnjić and Eddy Gnahoré all injured, but Lorenzo Pasciuti is available once more.

Atalanta: Striker Marco Borriello is in line to play against the club he left last month, but Carlos Carmona and star man Alejandro Gómez are injured, with Andrea Conti suspended.
