Celta can finish the job in style

Celta Vigo and PAOK meet for the third time this season in the second leg of their Europa League play-off, with the Spanish side holding a 2-1 lead after the first leg.

Celta beat PAOK 3-1 at this venue in the league phase and another entertaining clash is expected, with a home win and both teams to score looking a solid angle for our main bet.

PAOK picked up just four points in as many games on the road in the league phase but they still managed to score an impressive 10 goals across those games, scoring in each trip.

Celta shipped five goals across their four home games and across all competitions they have just two home clean sheets in 17 games this season. The La Liga outfit do appear to have the measure of their Greek opponents but they have conceded in both meetings, and PAOK have to adopt an attacking approach in Spain if they are to avoid elimination.

Celta have scored at least twice in five of their last six home games and as a correct score prediction I’m opting for a bold 4-1 home win, potentially with a couple of goals for the hosts late on as PAOK may need to simply throw everyone forward and that should allow Celta to kill the tie off on the counter.

Veteran Iago Aspas could be handed a start on Thursday after scoring twice from the bench in the win over Mallorca at the weekend. Aspas has also scored in both previous meetings with PAOK and the 38-year-old can terrorise the Thessaloniki outfit once again.
