Benitez’s boys can cause Basques some problems

Celta Vigo can add to Real Sociedad’s Basque derby blues by giving a good account of themselves in Saturday’s La Liga clash at Balaidos. Rafa Benitez’s side are marching up the table and will look to make it three home wins in a row this weekend.

Benitez rested 10 of his starters from last weekend’s 1-1 draw at Real Mallorca against Valencia in midweek and saw a young team pull off a superb 3-1 Copa del Rey win at the Mestalla.

They should take that positive energy into this clash and could cause problems for Imanol’s men, who needed two penalties to secure their passage to the quarter-finals in Wednesday’s win over Osasuna.

Real Sociedad’s away record is a BTTS sanctuary 

After three straight away games and only four changes made in midweek, the chances of Real Sociedad being a little jaded for this trip west are high. There was little to choose between them and Osasuna in the cup before a penalty-red card incident swung the tie in their favour.
