Benfica backed for victory in high-scoring affair

Benfica’s home game against Famalicao on Friday is unlikely to be a low-scoring affair and over 3.5 goals looks the best bet.

These teams have produced plenty of goals in recent meetings, with Famalicao scoring in six consecutive Primeira Liga games which should aid overs backers.

Benfica are third in the league, with 12 wins, two draws and three defeats, while Famalicao are ninth, with four wins, eight draws and five losses from their 17 games this season.

Famalicao have not been getting many wins lately, with just one victory in their last ten Primeira Liga games. They have also failed to win any of their last three away matches in the league.

Benfica, on the other hand, have won four of their last five home games against Famalicao.

Benfica have been prolific in front of goal this season, scoring 38 goals in the Primeira Liga – an average of 2.2 goals per game. They have scored three or more goals in seven of their 17 league matches.

Famalicao, meanwhile, have found the net in six consecutive games, including a recent 3-3 draw with Braga.

Both teams have been struggling defensively of late. It’s two Primeira Liga games since Benfica last recorded a shutout, while Famalicao have failed to keep a clean sheet in nine of their last ten league matches.

Benfica have been winners in 19 of their last 20 Primeira Liga home games and a 3-1 home win is an attractive correct-score bet.
