Celta Vigo vs Sevilla Betting Tips

Sevilla put in one of their best showings of the season to dispose of Celta Vigo 4-0 at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan last week in the 1st Leg. Goals from Adil Rami, Michael Krohn-Dehli and a brace from Kevin Gameiro sealed the win and gave Sevilla one foot in the final.

The clubs met again on Sunday in the league, this time in Galicia but Sevilla couldn’t repeat the trick instead having to settle for a 1-1 draw which extended their long winless run on the road in the league. It didn’t do Celta Vigo many favours either and they have now picked up just 4 points from their last 7 in La Liga.

Both teams have bucked those recent trends in the cups though. Celta Vigo stunned Atletico Madrid in the Quarter Finals while Sevilla have picked up away wins in all 3 of their Copa del Rey ties so far.

They perhaps enjoy the freedom of the cups and won’t be under as much pressure to perform here given the big lead they hold so that might help them. Celta Vigo are a naturally attacking side and will have a go at trying to cut this deficit. They rarely fail to score at home but as they chase goals, it seems certain that Sevilla will also get opportunities on the break and betting on both teams to score at 4/6 might be a smart move here.

Sevilla have a bit more all-round quality and a squad that is built for competing on several fronts so they could freshen up their team a little and benefit from it whereas Celta, who are suffering from one or two injuries may just have to go with the same again.

It’s hard to see any way back here for Celta Vigo and backing Sevilla to win 2-1 at 8/1 and secure a comprehensive aggregate win looks a decent shout.
