Charleroi vs Seraing United Predictions
- RFC Seraing have lost 10 of their 12 away games in the Belgian First Division this season.
- The hosts beat Seraing 3-1 away from home earlier this term.
- Charleroi have conceded just 13 goals at home this season; only three teams in Belgium’s top flight have better home defensive records.
Charleroi set for consecutive wins?
Charleroi’s 1-0 win over Sint-Truiden turned a run of four games without a win in the Belgian First Division into a three-match unbeaten run, and the Zebras are now looking up, sitting just two points behind fourth-placed Anderlecht.
Despite only netting twice in their last five games, Charleroi should be confident of earning consecutive wins for the first time since early December on Friday night, when they host an RFC Seraing side who they beat 3-1 away from home back in October, on a night where Seraing managed just one shot on target. Only three Belgian clubs, including both of the top two, have conceded fewer home goals than Charleroi this season.
Seraing are second-bottom of the Belgian First Division, 10 points clear of a dreadful Beerschot outfit but within just five points of another six clubs, in a remarkably close bottom half of the table. However, they are unlikely to be able to rely on their away form to get them out of trouble; Seraing have lost 10 of their 12 away league games this season, failing to score in six of their away matches.
Poor visitors unlikely to trouble Charleroi?
Seraing’s two away victories this campaign came at fellow strugglers Eupen and OH Leuven, both of whom are just four points clear of them. Their other 10 road trips have seen them lose on every single occasion, netting just six times and conceding 27 at the other end.
With struggling Seraing’s dreadful away record in mind, Charleroi should make their superiority count. For added value, punters are advised to back a home clean sheet, taking into consideration the visitors’ dire attacking returns on the road, as well as Charleroi’s good defensive record at the Stade du Pays de Charleroi.
Charleroi have already managed one two-goal win over Friday’s opponents this term, and backing them to do so again could be a decent correct score prediction.
