Chelsea vs Los Angeles FC Predictions

• Both teams have scored in eight of LAFC’s last ten games

Chelsea face a challenge

Chelsea ended their season with a Conference League success over Real Betis and a top-four finish in the Premier League and they will be hoping to carry on that form in this Club World Cup campaign.

Enzo Maresca’s side have added Liam Delap and Mamadou Sarr to their ranks for the tournament and get their challenge under way against Los Angeles FC, one of three MLS teams in this year’s competition after they won the play-in to qualify for this event.

LAFC have a number of familiar faces, including Hugo Lloris and Olivier Giroud. They topped the Western Conference last season but fell short in the play-offs. However they did win the U.S. Open Cup and were beaten in the Leagues Cup final so should not be underestimated.

Blues to win high-scoring affair

Both teams have scored in eight of LAFC’s last ten matches and they could get on the scoresheet once again as they take on Chelsea.

Denis Bouanga is a real threat up front and could cause issues for the Blues if they are not fully tuned up for this opener. Both teams are fancied to score in a win for Maresca’s men. 

Expect Chelsea to take some time to get up to speed but they should still be able to record a 3-1 win.
